Get Your Fireplace Ready for Winter
As the weather cools down, it’s the perfect time to make sure your fireplace or insert is ready to keep you warm all season long.
Check Your Batteries
Before scheduling service, start with the simplest fix — fresh batteries!
- Replace the batteries in both your remote control and the remote receiver (usually located under or behind the fireplace).
- Weak or dead batteries are the most common reason fireplaces won’t turn on after sitting unused.
Test Operation
Once the batteries are replaced, test your fireplace to confirm that it turns on and off properly. If it still isn’t responding, try resetting the receiver or verifying that the wall switch is in the “on” position. If you are using a remote to test your fireplace is working, confirm that your remote is synchronized.
Confirm Remote is Synchronized
If your remote has been dead or without batteries, or there have been other voltage related events such as a surge or other electronic interference, it may no longer be synchronized with your fireplace.
- Watch the video for information on synchronizing your Lopi, Avalon or Fireplace Xtrordinair.
- Review the synchronization information in your user manual.
