We’re pleased to announce that Watkins received the Crystal Workplace Excellence Award in the large company category from the San Diego Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at a ceremony last evening.

The ninth annual event honored companies that demonstrate human resource practices that have contributed to superior employee satisfaction and company performance.  Nominations could only be submitted by employees who considered their company “a great place to work.”  As Steve Hammock says, “Our employees are the company.  If you take care of your employees – your employees will take care of the rest.” 

Watkins was previously nominated by employees for a Workplace Excellence award two years in a row (2006 & 2007), and was selected as a Medallion honoree by the San Diego SHRM both times.  The Crystal Award is one of the two highest awards – an extremely impressive accomplishment, taking into consideration that all of the large companies in San Diego County were eligible.
