How often should I replace my HotSpring Spa or Tiger River Spa filter?
If you clean out your filters monthly, they should last anwhere from 4 to 6 years. Tri-X plastic filters are said to last twice as long. Filters may still look good after a long period, but the fibers over time slowly pull apart, and they do not filter as finely.

Is the $500 deposit fully refundable?
Yes, Creative Energy will refund your $500 deposit at any time.

Can I try out the spa before I buy it?
Yes. Creative Energy has more spas filled and operating per showroom than any other spa dealer in the Bay Area. We encourage you to try it out.

What is the difference between 110V spas and 220V spas?
Most larger spas require 220v. However, Creative Energy's mid size and smaller spas can be either 110v or 220v. The efficiency is exactly the same. When a spa is wired 220v, both the jet pump and heater can be active at the same time. In the 110v, the heater is deactivated when the jet pumps are turned on. When the jets are turned back off, it automatically resumes heating. 220v spas heat the spa after the initial fill up 3 times faster than 110v spas. Again, same amount of kilowatts used.

How often should I drain my water?
The manufacturer says every four months, but, depending on use, you can let it go 6 months.

I just drained and filled my spa, and now it is not heating. What could the problem be?
You most likely have an "airlock." If a bubble of air goes through your plumbing and hits your heater, your heater will trip off. Basically, this is a safty measure to prevent the heater from melting tubes. The fix? On models 1996 and up, you have 1 filter standpipe that has a hole in it. Turn your spa off, shove a hose down that standpipe, and blast water for 30 seconds through the standpipe. Take the hose out, put the filters in, and then fire up your spa. Be sure to run your jets for 10 minute upon startup. If this does not work, service is required.

How much will my HotSpring Spa cost per month to operate?
Your HotSpring spa will cost between $20 and $35 per month to operate. You will have the most energy efficient spa on the market. If another company quotes you less than this amount, ask them to put it in writing. HotSpring Spas have been third party tested, and no other manufacturer can claim that.

How long does it take to heat up?
Depending on 110 volt or 220 volt, and gallonage, your spa will heat up between 3 and 12 degrees an hour. Once at temperature, you spa will remain hot and does not need to be cooled off.

What does the "Nature 2 Silver Ion Cartridge" do?
Silver is a natural deterrant for bacteria. The cartridge is filled with silver coated rocks. The silver, along with the MPS Shock, prevent bacteria from growing in your spa water. Now, over a 4 month period the silver will wear off, and that is why you need to replace the cartridge.
Back to FAQ list

What do you mean by "Virtually" Chlorine free?
If you were perfect with adding MPS along with the silver ion cartridge, technically you would not need chlorine. However, if you did get bacteria in your spa water, the Nature-2 and MPS will not kill it. Only chlorine will. Creative Energy recommends that you put a little Chlorine in once a week for your own peace of mind.

My spa has no heat.
Step 1 - Make sure you have power to the spa. Step 2 - Make sure you have clean filters. Step 3 - Reset the heater - Some models have a reset on the heater themselves, and newer spas simply need to be powered down. If this does not work, service is required.

I see commercials about spas for 75-90% off - What is the scoop?
This is the biggest scam in the spa industry. They (Master Spas) invite you to a show where all the "top" manufacturers of spas will be just to bait and switch you to their product. States have banned them, and California will ban them too. The 75-90% off is a rebate that they claim you will get 6 years down the road. They make it impossible to claim, so you will not see that money.

I am landscaping my yard and making room for a spa, what should I know?
We always recommend when planning for a new spa, that you pick out and reserve your model with us first. Not only will you pick the right spa to suit your needs, you will also know all the right dimensions to work with before starting your project, rather than stress out looking for a spa with a precise measurement. In fact once you reserve a spa from us, we will be more than happy to meet with your landscaper at your home, and help you with all the planning.

How long does it take to get a spa to my home?
If we have the spa model in your desired colors at our Richmond warehouse, we can usually deliver your spa within a week. Otherwise we have to get the spa ordered from Hot Springs, and get the spa to your home within a 2-3 week timeframe.
Back to FAQ list

Can I trade in an older Creative Energy Spa for a newer model?
Yes you absolutely can. We strongly advise that you visit your local showroom and reserve a spa of your choice. We will then schedule an appointment at your convenient time to get your older spa appraised.

I see other companies that have spas that run for $10 a month in electricity...What is the story with that?
First off, they are not being honest with you. Secondly, only HotSpring Spas have been 3rd party tested for efficiency. Ask their sales staff if they will put it in writing. We will.
